Last weekend we loaded up our van and headed out of town early on a cold Saturday morning, aiming for Asbury Park, NJ. Though we had been to Cheap Thrills a few times to gawk over the show bikes and to pick through the treasures on the swap floor, this was our first time attending the show as vendors.
Cheap Thrills guarantees a good time. If you haven't yet experienced the thrills for yourself, make plans for next year. Set on the famous Asbury Park, NJ boardwalk in the Paramount Theatre/Convention Hall, Cheap Thrills offers Show bikes, swap parts, vendors, tattooers and (new this year) a photography show, a motorcycle tank art show, and a sissy bar art show. With a few bar and food options, and a DJ thrown into the mix, you just can't not have a good time.
We got ourselves set up on the second floor and settled in to enjoy a nice ocean view out of the giant old Convention Hall windows. We shared a corner of the space upstairs with our friends at Old Bike Barn, Kickstart Cycle Supply and Doomed NYC. Beyond our little corner, other vendors spread out to encompass the entire floor.
After the show opened to the public, Heather and I took turns manning the table, at times allowing each other to roam the show and say hello to friends showing bikes, swapping parts and vending their own products.
The show stayed busy the entire day, the flow of bodies moving through the two floors seemed to never slow. The bikes in the show, as usual, were top notch and even though I didn't really get to shop the swap, we were told there were a lot of great finds and killer deals.
The crew at Cheap Thrills definitely put on another awesome show and we can't wait for the opportunity to attend again next year. Follow them here: @cheapthrillsnj and check out cheapthrillsshow.com for more info.
